The Role

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen at The Perse School for a Theatre Technician within their Performing Arts Centre, in a fixed term role for 12 months from September 2024. The role would suit a graduate wishing to develop a broad range of skills whilst learning alongside experienced professional practitioners in a practical setting and may lead to a permanent position.

As a graduate level role, an extensive programme of development and training is available to the successful candidate. There will be a full induction programme, regular reviews to identify growth areas, and ongoing training, including access to Educare online courses.

Key Responsibilities

Working under the direction of the Director of Parental Experience and the Senior Technician, the successful candidate will assist with the organisation, development and successful delivery of the Performing Arts Centre events programme, with a particular focus on extra-curricular drama productions, and will include sound, lighting, projection and stage management.
Skills and Qualifications

A degree in technical theatre or 1 year’s equivalent experience working in technical theatre is essential for the role, as is an empathy for young people, as you will also be assisting with the running of the pupil led Perse Production Company and will have regular contact with pupils.
