Description:

Brighton College is seeking to appoint a Theatre Events and Production Coordinator.

Main purpose of the role: The Theatre Events and Production Coordinator will be the main point of contact when it comes to communication between the departments and ensuring administration processes are completed.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

Undertake administrative duties as directed by the Performing Arts Technical and Facilities Manager;

Oversee aspects of administration in relation to the whole building including room usage, compliance, co-curricular, event planning and operations;

Working with the duty managers looking after front of house and the ticketing for performances and events that take place in venues managed by the Performing Arts Technical and Facilities Manager;

Assist the Performing Arts Technical and Facility Manager in his role as Production Manager with all administrative resources needed for school productions;

Assist with the scheduling of future events for the performing arts buildings, coordinating with the other co-curricular departments in the termly planning process;

Assist with budget management and expense claims, liaising with accounts when required;

Assist the Performing Arts Technical and Facilities Manager with diary & meeting coordination and minute taking when required;

Work in conjunction with the Manager of Administration Team (Senior School) and other co-curricular administrators to help co-ordinate administrative assistance across the performing arts departments;

Communicate professionally and effectively with College staff, parents and pupils in person, by telephone and via email, enacting and responding to all communications in a timely manner;

Maintain professional and effective working relationships with College staff, particularly the Facilities, Maintenance, Security, Catering and Porterage teams;

Co-ordinate the integrated workings between Drama, Dance & Music under the supervision of the Performing Arts Technical and Facilities Manager;

Liaising with HR to ensure that all necessary pre-employment checks are in place before freelancers begin work and that freelancers fulfil their safeguarding obligations, including annual completion of documentation and training.

Person Specification:

The successful candidate will have experience in the following areas:

Exceptional interpersonal skills and the confidence and ability to develop strategic relationships with senior stakeholders;

Strong copy writing skills, with excellent grammar and proofing skills;

Have excellent time management skills and a demonstrable ability to multitask;

Good financial acumen with strong numeracy;

Good level of IT competency and experience of Microsoft Office packages;

Be self-disciplined and motivated;

Excellent attention to detail;

An enthusiasm for education and the independent school system.

Hours of work:

This is a all year round appointment on a Zero-Hour basis. The services you provide to the College will be on an ad-hoc basis. This means that whilst the College will try to give you as much notice as possible when offering work, there is no obligation on the part of the College to provide such work nor for you to accept any work offered.

Holidays:

Holiday entitlement is included in the hourly pay rate for this role.
