Test Rig Controls & Data Acquisition Engineer

+12 months +

+On site in Bristol

+Inside IR35

We have a new vacancy for an Test Rig Control Systems & Data Acquisition Engineer working within the Structures Test Team. This role is based onsite in Filton, Bristol.

The team is responsible for testing the structural technologies for the Wing of Tomorrow programme, Hydrogen Powered Aircraft and for support of all current aircraft programmes.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

> Delivery of technical specialisms in industrial control systems (MOOG Aerospace test software, MTS Aeropro preferable) and/or test data acquisition (HBK, Catman preferable); a healthy mix of hands-on lab and office based work.

> Understanding of hydraulics - specifically servo-hydraulic control.

> Assistance when required to deliver structural tests.

> Communication and reporting of progress to the test leader/test customers.

> Coordination of all internal and external contributors/stakeholders/suppliers.

> Anticipation, identification and management of risks & opportunities.

> Participation in the test centre SQCDP and weekly team meetings.

> Support the development of training methodology and material.

> Risk assessment, Safe Systems of Work & Health / Safety Compliance.

Required Skills:

> Educated (or equivalent proven experience) in control systems engineering or a related discipline (e.g. Aerospace, Electrical, Systems, Mechanical, Physics)

> +5 years of experience in:

> Delivery of projects to time, cost, quality.

> One of the following disciplines: Instrumentation, control systems, data acquisition, hydraulic control.

> Experience in structures, materials or systems testing would be an advantage.

> Experience in managing suppliers or participating in supplier selection would be an advantage.

Soft skills:

> Pioneering spirit, open to new ideas/innovation.

> Good communication skills, multifunctional work and customer focused.

> Team worker.

> Proven ability to deliver.

> MS Office and G Suite.

This role requires 100% onsite working in Filton, Bristol.
