Test Engineer
Clearance: Active SC Clearance is required.
Location: Telford
Duration: 6 months
Location: On-site: 2 days per week in Telford
Inside IR35: Rate £400.00 - £410.00 pd
Looking for a hands-on QA role where your test expertise genuinely helps deliver outcomes? Our Client is hiring a QA Tester to join an Agile delivery team, performing both manual and automated testing while contributing to test approach, coverage, and clear reporting of quality, risks and issues.
What you'll be doing:
* Execute manual and automated test activities across delivery projects
* Support the team with writing the Test Approach and defining test activities, tasks and deliverables
* Document test coverage (including a test coverage matrix) to evidence traceability
* Perform Functional System Testing and Integration Testing, including support for end-to-end testing
* Analyse customer requirements and technical documentation to identify test scenarios
* Write and maintain test scripts, prepare test data, and execute test cases (manual and automated)
* Apply Risk Based Testing to verify outcomes against expected results
* Work closely with delivery teams, project stakeholders, and external supplier test teams
* Provide regular test status reports, and identify/raise project and product risks and issues
What you'll bring:
* Active SC Clearance
* ISTQB Software Foundation certification
* Experience in Functional System Testing (writing and executing tests)
* Strong testing fundamentals, including Risk Based Testing
* Test automation experience and comfort using test tools (e.g., Postman)
* Agile methodology experience
* Exposure to Data Warehouses, Data Marts, and Data Migration
* Strong database skills (SQL, Oracle, or other databases)
* AWS experience
* Ability to define and document Test Approaches and Test Completion reports
* Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, test management tools (e.g., Jira Zephyr Scale), and GIT
* ETL experience
* Excellent written and verbal communication
