Job Title: Test Engineer

Role Overview

The Test Engineer is responsible for testing printed circuit boards (PCBs) and assemblies to ensure they meet quality and performance specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct tests on PCBs and complete assemblies according to specifications.
Perform fault-finding down to the component level.
Keep instructions and documents up to date and maintain test results as required.
Handle and test products following company policies, including proper storage and anti-static precautions.
Work on products according to provided schedules and meet defined deadlines.
Accurately record products on and through the company ERP system (Epicor).
Provide yield statistics to the Process Engineering department and offer technical recommendations when appropriate.
Implement new processes and generate instructions and documents as necessary.
Train other employees on techniques and specific methods to ensure a broad level of skill within the department.
Recommend any training deficiencies to the Production Supervisor.
Communicate any testing issues to the Production Supervisor.Travel

Limited travel may be required to meet business demands.Qualifications and Experience

BTEC ONC/HNC or City & Guilds in electronics.
Proficient with computers.
Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
Proven experience in electronic production and assembly.
Ability to identify electrical component types.
Familiarity with tools commonly used in electrical and electronic testing, such as bench power supplies, multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read circuit diagrams and fault find to component level.
Knowledge of using PIC programming tools and similar devices.
Ability to create and edit technical instructions.
Strong interpersonal skills, team-oriented, with the ability to motivate and empower others.
Exceptional work ethic with the ability to work flexibly and prioritise to meet deadlines.
