Description:
SmartPro are seeking a Test Engineer to join our client based in the Aberdare area, who will be ensuring the effective Test & Inspection requirements . The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the test technician team, ensuring that all products and systems are tested thoroughly and meet the required standards and specifications. This role involves managing test schedules, supervising technicians, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of testing procedures.
Responsibilities:
* Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of test technicians and inspectors.
* Coordinate and assign daily tasks and testing schedules.
* Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
* Develop and implement test plans and Standard Operating Procedures.
* Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to prioritise testing activities.
* Ensure test setups and environments are prepared and maintained.
* Monitor testing processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and company protocols.
* Implement corrective actions for any deviations from standards or specifications.
* Assist test technicians in diagnosing and resolving complex issues.
* Conduct root cause analysis for test failures and non-conformances.
* Minimise the occurrence of QFRs.
* Recommend and implement improvements to testing procedures and methodologies.
Skills:
* Experience within a similar Test or QA role with supervisory / leadership duties.
* Proficiency in carrying out 5S and other Continuous Improvement initiatives.
* Strong knowledge of electronics and test schedules.
