Description:
Test Automation Engineer (Automation)
Location: Remote/Hybrid as required
Start Date: End of September / Early October 2026
Duration: Initial 3-month contract
Essential Skills & Experience
Minimum 2-3 years' commercial experience with Playwright (more preferred).
Proven experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks from scratch.
TypeScript coding and technical depth
Strong experience in UI test automation
Ability to work closely with technical and business teams to establish automation standards and best practices.
Experience mentoring/coaching teams and sharing automation knowledge. (working with Haden (our perm resource)
Key Responsibilities
Design and build a Playwright-based automation framework for the Nexus Programme.
Develop and maintain automated UI test suites.
Work closely with the Calculations Team to transfer knowledge and embed automation practices.
Establish automation standards, reusable components, and framework governance.
Support the wider programme in increasing automation coverage and improving quality assurance processes.
Desirable Skills
Performance testing - advantageous
Experience using Xray as a Test Management tool. advantageous
Previous experience within the Pensions sector advantageous
Performance testing experience (e.g. JMeter, k6, LoadRunner or similar) advantageous
