Description:

A well regarded civil engineering contractor in London is seeking a Temporary Works Engineer to support a diverse portfolio of water, rail, aviation and hyperscale data centre projects. This role offers strong technical scope, autonomy and regular site travel across London and the South East.

The Role

You will lead temporary works coordination, assurance and compliance across multiple live schemes, ensuring all designs are planned, checked and delivered safely in line with BS5975. Working closely with designers, project managers and site teams, you'll provide technical leadership on temporary works strategy, sequencing and safe implementation across complex infrastructure environments.

Key Responsibilities

Manage temporary works requirements across water, rail, aviation and data centre projects, ensuring designs are approved, communicated and correctly installed.
Review drawings, calculations and method statements, resolving technical queries with designers and subcontractors.
Drive safe, efficient temporary works delivery through close collaboration with site engineers and project teams.
Conduct inspections, maintain registers and ensure full compliance with BS5975 and company procedures.
Prepare design briefs, permits and assurance documentation.
Provide technical guidance to site teams on safe installation, adaptation and removal of temporary works.
Travel to sites across London and the South East as required.About You

Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership via ICE or IStructE.
Strong experience in temporary works engineering within civil engineering or infrastructure.
Solid understanding of BS5975, temporary works processes and design assurance.
Experience in one or more of: water treatment, rail infrastructure, aviation structures, data centre builds.
Knowledge of reinforced concrete, groundworks, structures, formwork, falsework or enabling works.
Clear communicator with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.
CSCS card and full UK driving licence.What's On Offer
