Required from 1st September 2024: Prospero Teaching are seeking to appoint an inspiring temporary Teacher of Science & Technology who will enjoy being part of a collaborative and dedicated team that work with integrity together. Experience in Engineering is desirable.
You will join a large team of specialist staff, dedicated to excellent science teaching and learning. The role will mainly be focused on the teaching of Science and Technology at Key Stage 3 and 4. There may be an opportunity to teach Engineering at Key Stage 4 for the right candidate. It is important that they find the right candidate for all our posts, so we are flexible in the number of days from 0.5fte to full time.
The successful candidate will:
o Be willing to work hard, be kind and make a difference
o Have a good honours degree in a relevant subject
o Be an excellent classroom teacher with the ability to inspire pupils about the subject
o Be able to communicate scientific concepts clearly and accurately
o Identify knowledge gaps and devise effective intervention strategies
o Provide feedback to pupils about their learning and how to improve
o Use data effectively to track the progress of pupils
o Support pupils as they prepare for GCSE examinations
o Work as a team with other members of the department and wider school community
o Be passionate about working at the school

Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate £120 per day
Hours - 8:30 am - 4pm (full day), half day (am or pm), individual lesson cover EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent
Previous experience working in a UK school
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential) TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years OTHER
