Temporary Finance Manager
Location: Witney
Contract: Open to full or part time hours
The Opportunity
We are working on behalf of a growing business to recruit an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of its finance function and play a key role in supporting business performance and growth.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will oversee day-to-day finance operations, lead month-end and year-end reporting, manage cash flow and working capital, and provide meaningful financial insight to support commercial decision-making.
This is a varied, hands-on role offering responsibility across finance, commercial operations, supplier management and HR.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the production of monthly management accounts, financial reports and year-end processes
Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, providing recommendations to support business strategy
Take ownership of cash flow, credit control, expenditure and working capital
Oversee stock valuation, stock levels and inventory efficiency
Manage payroll, VAT returns, statutory reporting and external audits
Monitor financial performance, identify variances and implement effective financial controls
Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of financial processes
Support HR activities, including recruitment, employee relations, contracts and policy development
Negotiate supplier contracts and drive cost efficiencies across the business
About You
A relevant accountancy qualification, degree or equivalent demonstrable experience
Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting skills
Advanced Excel skills and experience using Sage 50
Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
Experience managing HR matters and negotiating supplier contracts
