Credit Controller – Temporary Contract

We’re looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join a well-established business based in Tamworth on a temporary contract.
This is a great opportunity for someone who can hit the ground running, take ownership of a customer ledger and support the finance team with the collection of outstanding debt.
Due to the location, you must have your own transport.
The Role
As Credit Controller, you’ll be responsible for managing a customer ledger and ensuring outstanding payments are collected in a timely and professional manner.
You’ll work closely with customers and the wider finance team to resolve queries, reduce aged debt and support healthy cash flow across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and collect outstanding customer debt.
* Chase overdue payments by telephone and email.
* Build strong relationships with customers to encourage prompt payment.
* Reconcile customer accounts and investigate payment discrepancies.
* Resolve invoice and payment queries efficiently.
* Allocate incoming payments accurately.
* Monitor aged debt and produce debtor reports.
* Escalate overdue or problematic accounts where appropriate.
* Maintain accurate customer account records.
* Work closely with colleagues across the business to resolve outstanding issues.
* Support the wider finance team with additional duties when required.
About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
* Previous Credit Control experience, ideally with at least two years in a similar role.
* Confidence managing a busy customer ledger independently.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
* A confident and professional telephone manner.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
* The ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
* A proactive and positive approach.
* Your own transport due to the location.
* Availability to start at short notice.
