We are currently recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking private training Provider for a Telecommunications Tutor/Assessor.
Job Purpose
* To deliver high quality teaching within the telecommunications area delivering BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Professional Competence for IT and Telecoms Professionals, through undertaking one or more of the following key responsibilities.
Main Responsibilities
* Design and deliver teaching materials through use of appropriate teaching, learning and assessment methods.
* Challenge thinking, foster debate and develop the ability of students to engage and develop in their telecommunications training.
* Facilitate student projects and/or assignments and, where appropriate.
* Mark and assess work and examinations and provide feedback to students. Contribute to setting assignments.
* To be aware of any Health and Safety, disability, equality or welfare issues, and raise any concerns with the Quality Manager.
Planning and Organising
* Postholder will plan own workload and use teaching resources and facilities as appropriate to deliver designated activities. Will co-ordinate with others e.g. academic staff in relevant department, to ensure that student needs and expectations are met.
Decision Making
* Postholder will contribute to the design and delivery of modules or designated teaching within the telecommunications role. May identify the need for developing the content or structure of modules with academic staff and make proposals on how this should be achieved.
Key Contacts/Communication
* Students: Departmental staff – Postholder will routinely communicate complex ideas to leaners using a range of knowledge and understanding, using high level skills and a range of media.
Experience Required
* Relevant occupational experience
* Qualified at L3 or above in Telecommunications
* Assessors qualification
* Teaching qualification
* Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
* Ability to plan your own workload
* IT literate, with the ability to adapt to new systems easily
* Confident decision maker
* Flexible & adaptable to change
* Self-motivated
* Ability to influence & motivate learners
