Telecare Officer

Description:

Belmont Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Telecare Officer to work with our client based in the Darlington area on a temporary basis. This is an ad hoc role, with the majority of shifts expected to be evenings, nights and weekends. Candidates must have full flexibility to cover required shift patterns.

Overview:

The successful candidate will respond to emergency Telecare calls, providing support to vulnerable customers and ensuring their safety, dignity and independence. The role will also involve welfare checks, home visits, responding to equipment issues and liaising with relevant services where additional support is required.

Main Duties:

* Respond to emergency calls, conducting dynamic risk assessments and providing emergency First Aid, CPR and defibrillator assistance where required

* Provide non-nursing support to vulnerable customers during emergencies

* Respond to equipment failures, smoke and fire alarms, lockouts and security concerns

* Carry out welfare checks and annual home visits

* Check Telecare equipment and maintain accurate customer records

* Assess changing customer needs and property conditions

* Refer and signpost customers to appropriate services and agencies

* Provide a calm, sympathetic and supportive response to customers and their families

* Complete relevant administrative duties and maintain accurate records

Essential Criteria:

* Full UK driving licence and ability to drive manual vehicles

* Prior experience working with vulnerable adults, including those who may display challenging behaviour

* Experience working within policies and procedures and using initiative when responding to situations

* Ability to work effectively in a busy and challenging environment

* Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills

* Good IT, literacy and numeracy skills

* Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role

* Enhanced DBS certificate
