A leading premium automotive business and leading to move towards electric autonomous vehicles.
WHAT TO EXPECT
An Automotive Electrical / Mechanical role within the production validation testing workshop based at JLR Solihull.
You will be working on current Production and Engineering vehicles with the objective of fault detection, repair and testing of electrical systems and components.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Software updates and testing.
• Service, diagnostics & repair operations on current vehicles.
• Provision of technical feedback for fault identification and support of subsystem development.
• Preparation, fitment & removal of test components.
• Assembly / replacement of electrical systems / components.
• Manufacture / modification of electrical harnesses.
• Diagnose / trace faults, rectify and validate issues.
• Use of computer diagnostic equipment
• Read and interpret harness drawings and liaise with engineering departments.
• Fitment of harnesses and electrical components.
• Engineer "one off" solutions to overcome issue.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
• Level 3 C&G, NVQ or IMI Light Motor Vehicle Maintenance or similar.
• Experience in diagnosing electrical faults utilising recent diagnostic tools.
• Working knowledge of JLR “TOPIX” or other OEM system
• Excellent electrical systems knowledge.
• Experienced in whole vehicle component strip & rebuild.
• Good knowledge of whole-vehicle electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair vehicle electrical faults.
• Knowledge of Hybrid systems – Senior authorised person as a minimum requirement.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Fully PC literate.
• Knowledge of H&S and environmental requirements for working in a workshop environment, i.e. RA, HAV, COSHH and iPoint regulations
