Technical Support Engineer – Biomedical

Harlow

Our client is the leading service provider of Managed Equipment Services (MES) for the NHS and the private health sector in the UK. They are currently looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join their Biomedical team based in Harlow.

To be considered for this role you must have an BSc/HND/HNC in engineering, electronics, or medical technologies such as biomedical engineering along with Biomedical experience in the service and repair of medical equipment. You must also have at least 2 - 3 years UK based work experience for this role.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support activities where needed across all departments within UK&I

Manage e-quip spare parts data including the quality of data relating to spare parts and suppliers

Assist Procurement with spare part identification, liaise with OEMs to acquire accurate part descriptions and pricing

Responsible for keeping D365 updated with biomed spare parts in line with e-quip

Enhance spare part data by linking to models of equipment

Perform data mining activities on a variety of sources producing reports as required

Undertake other reasonable tasks as directed by UK Technical Support Manager

Occasionally assist on site engineers with Biomed equipment repairs and testing

Comply with the Quality Assurance and Environmental, Health & Safety policies, and work to maintain a high standard of customer service and protect your health and safety as well as that of your colleagues, our customers, and members of the public. Promptly raise any concerns regarding potential violations of the policies

May involve Travel UK wide as needed to perform Operational duties and to obtain or provide training

Key Accountabilities

Directly support activities undertaken by the Technical Support team.

Fully understand the e-quip ordering system

Carry out approvals of both parts orders and interventions based on biomed experience

Liaise with relevant line managers to process biomed orders

Performance Indicators

Innovate and streamline processes to ensure a timely response to requests for information, and safeguard data integrity

Essential Skills & Experience

BSc/HND/HNC in Engineering, electronics, or medical technologies such as biomedical engineering

Biomedical experience in the service and repair of medical equipment

Ability to manage substantial workloads, prioritising as appropriate

Excellent Time management and prioritisation skills

Excellent communicator, both written and verbal

Good knowledge of MS Office Applications

Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as in a team

Full UK Driving licence

Death in Service Scheme after probation - 4 times salary

Maternity - 21 weeks full enhanced maternity pay; this is inclusive of Statutory Maternity pay. Plus, after the employee has returned from Maternity Leave for 3 months, a 10% bonus will be paid, (with a commitment to work for 6 months plus)
