Description:

Technical Sales Specialist

Northern UK | Field Based

Take ownership of a major northern territory and make your impact visible. This is a chance to grow a business across the M62 corridor and north to Scotland, building customer partnerships and winning opportunities in industries where accurate process insight matters. You’ll be working with companies of all sizes across Pharma/biopharma, Chemical, F&B and O&G sectors.

You will represent an established instrumentation business whose solutions help manufacturers understand and control their processes. Your customers will bring varied challenges; your job is to uncover what matters, connect them with the right solutions and turn a product sale in to a lasting commercial relationship and the potential for complex integrated workflows.

What you will make happen

Build and deliver a territory plan that turns market potential into sustainable revenue and increased share.

Open new accounts and expand existing relationships through thoughtful prospecting, well-prepared customer visits and consistent follow-through.

Get close to customer processes and priorities, engaging engineering, production, quality and procurement teams in the way that works for them.

Translate technical needs into clear proposals and a persuasive case for value, coordinating application and service colleagues where their expertise will help.

Own opportunities from first conversation through qualification, proposal, negotiation and close; keep the pipeline, forecast and CRM records accurate.

Use what you learn from customers and competitors to focus your time, strengthen account plans and spot the next opportunity.

Travel regularly throughout the territory, with occasional national or international travel for meetings and training.

What you will bring

A degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or a related scientific or engineering discipline.

At least two years of experience selling a technical product or solution to industrial or process-industry customers. Relevant backgrounds could include chemicals, pharmaceuticals, biopharma, food and beverage, oil and gas, water or related manufacturing markets.

The confidence to learn technical applications, ask thoughtful questions and communicate clearly with both technical and commercial stakeholders.

A record of building customer relationships and progressing sales opportunities, with the ambition and persistence to grow a territory.

Fluent written and spoken English, a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the North of the UK, including Scotland.

Why make the move

Because your contribution will be more than maintaining a list of accounts. You will have a substantial territory to develop, room to influence where growth comes from, and the satisfaction of helping customers solve real manufacturing challenges. It is a strong next step for a technical salesperson who wants to stretch commercially while continuing to build their subject knowledge
