Astute's Power team is partnering with an energy provider with a commitment to professional development and sustainability to recruit for a consultant to help develop sustainable projects in the Biomass, Waste and Renewable sectors.

The Technical Projects Manager role comes with a salary of up to £50,000, £4000 car allowance and generous pension.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, the Technical Projects Manager will:

Provide project and study management on a range of projects within the energy generation and storage industry.
Evaluate on viability of projects through planning and managing feasibility studies, technical assessments and economic analyses.
Work with cross-functional teams.
Support project work including visiting sites, analysing data, and preparing proposals and technical reports.
Participate in activities including testing, comissioning and troubleshooting when required.
Liaise with external stakeholders including utilities, regulatory bodies and technology suppliers.
Ensure successful project execution within budget and time schedules.
Maintain and build industry relationships.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, renewable energy or related field.
Previous experience in design, engineering and implementing phases of process and power generation solutions.
Project Management experience in a relevant industry.
Knowledge of technologies such as renewable energy, energy from waste, CCUS, battery technologies, energy storage and generation systems.
Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations, particularly focussed on waste treatment and/or power generation.

Personal skills

The Technical Projects Manager role would suit someone who:

Has excellent problem solving skills.
Able to analyse data to identify issues and advise on methods to resolve.
Strong communication skills with an ability to liaise with external stakeholders and colleagues effectively.
Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-pace environment.
Willingness to travel to different sites across the UK and potentially attend meetings overseas when needed.
