Rare and exciting opportunity on offer for an innovative, Technical Manager from a design engineering background looking to work for an industry leading, rapidly expanding company where you will work on exciting projects whilst having an opportunity to progress to VP Level.

Are you a Technical Manager / Director with an Engineering background? Do you have experience of leading a CAD Design team of 5 or more staff? Do you have experience of overseeing the design through to manufacture of millwork products? Are you looking to become an expert within your field and become an integral part to a growing company?

With over 300 staff and multiple sites across New York they have grown 40% over the past 4 years and have quickly become the leaders within their market. This represents an exciting time to join this business as they have some impressive growth plans in place and are therefore looking to recruit a Technical Manager that will be directly mentored by an industry expert and subsequently developed to progress into becoming a Vice President in the future.

In this role you will be responsible for leading a team of 10 CAD Technicians, where you will oversee and coordinate the daily operations as well as being integral to developing growth strategies. You will work with multiple stakeholders as well as acting as the Project Manager for multiple projects, organizing collaborative meetings and ensuring project deadlines are met. You will be heavily involved in interviewing, hiring, and training new staff as well as involved in commercial negotiations for contracts and outside vendors. You will be solutions focused, working with the designers, installers and project engineers to overcome any issues that arise on site.

The Person:

Technical Manager
Must have experience of leading a team of at least 5 staff
Has ambition and looking to progress
Excellent problem solver
Must be proficient with CAD software
Experience with panel processing, woodworking, joinery, millwork
Degree in Civil, Industrial, Mechanical engineering OR Business Degree with leadership experience in millwork, kitchen design, architecture, furniture manufacturing or industrial design
