The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Manager to join a highly respected, premium food manufacturer supplying artisan customers across the UK. This is a key leadership position within a growing business that is investing heavily in innovation and future expansion.

Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, you'll have significant autonomy and the opportunity to influence technical strategy, quality standards, and continuous improvement across the site. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being visible on the factory floor and driving positive change rather than being office-based.

The Role

As Technical Manager, you will lead all technical and quality activities across the site, ensuring compliance with food safety standards while supporting operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

* Leading the site's Technical and Quality function.

* Maintaining and developing the Quality Management System (QMS).

* Ensuring continued compliance with BRCGS and SALSA standards.

* Managing internal and external audits.

* Leading a small technical team, including Systems and Technical Administration.

* Overseeing the site's contracted hygiene team to ensure the highest standards are maintained.

* Working closely with senior management to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

* Providing technical guidance to support quality, performance and future business growth.

* Playing an active role within the senior leadership team.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Technical professional who enjoys working within a collaborative, close-knit business.

You'll ideally have:

* Previous Technical Management experience within food manufacturing.

* Strong knowledge of BRCGS and SALSA standards.

* Experience managing quality systems and customer audits.

* Excellent leadership and coaching skills.

* A hands-on approach with a visible presence on site.

* The confidence to influence senior stakeholders and drive improvements
