Technical Documentation Manager
Defence & Aerospace | South West UK
A growing aerospace and defence organisation is looking for an experienced Technical Documentation Manager to take ownership of a critical documentation and information management function supporting complex engineering programmes.
This is a rare opportunity to join a team at an early stage and play a key role in shaping documentation processes, standards and delivery across high-profile defence projects.
What you'll be doing
* Leading the delivery of technical documentation for complex defence programmes.
* Managing and coordinating external documentation providers and publishing partners.
* Defining documentation requirements, standards and governance processes.
* Reviewing and approving documentation outputs to ensure quality, consistency and compliance.
* Acting as a key interface between engineering teams, customers and external stakeholders.
* Driving continuous improvement across documentation tools, processes and ways of working.
What we're looking for
* Experience working within a defence, aerospace or other highly regulated engineering environment.
* Strong knowledge of technical publications, structured authoring or military documentation standards.
* Experience managing technical authors, suppliers, contractors or external delivery teams.
* Ability to engage with customers and translate requirements into effective documentation solutions.
* A proactive mindset with a focus on improving processes and adopting new technologies.
