Technical Architect
Remote | UK | Outside IR35
Are you a hands-on Technical Architect with a background in media, broadcasting, TV or Video on Demand platforms? We're looking for an experienced architect to lead the design and delivery of cloud-native solutions for major media and entertainment organisations.
Working across the full project lifecycle, you'll collaborate with stakeholders, development teams and customers to define architecture, shape technical strategy and ensure successful delivery of modern AWS-based solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing scalable, cloud-native architectures on AWS.
- Working with customers and internal teams to understand business and technical requirements.
- Leading technology selection and key architectural decisions.
- Producing solution designs, estimates and technical documentation.
- Supporting engineering teams throughout delivery, ensuring quality, security and reliability.
- Helping establish CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies and development environments.
- Mentoring technical teams and embedding AI-driven best practices across the software development lifecycle.
Essential Experience
- Technical Architecture experience delivering complex AWS-based software solutions.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and modern software architecture patterns.
- Media industry experience, ideally within broadcasting, media supply chains, OTT, VoD, content delivery, scheduling or playout environments.
- Knowledge of media formats, codecs and content workflows.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and Agile delivery practices.
- Hands-on programming capability in JavaScript/TypeScript and/or Python.
- Strong understanding of AWS services including:
* Lambda and container-based compute platforms
* Kubernetes, ECS/Fargate or similar orchestration technologies
* NoSQL and relational databases
* Messaging and integration services
* Cloud storage solutions
- Practical experience applying AI technologies such as LLMs, RAG, AI agents and automation within software solutions.
