About the Role
Suffolk County Council is seeking an experienced and driven Team Manager to lead our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). This is a pivotal leadership role where you will coordinate safeguarding decision-making at the front door of children's services, ensuring timely and effective responses to concerns.
As Team Manager, you will oversee a multidisciplinary team, working in close partnership with key agencies including police, health, and education, to protect vulnerable children and young people. Location: Landmark House, Ipswich
Rate: £45.50 per hour
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2/3 days in the office

Key Responsibilities
Provide strong leadership and supervision to a team of Social Workers and practitioners within the MASH.
Make timely, defensible management decisions in line with the Suffolk Thresholds Document and statutory guidance.
Oversee screening, triage, and risk assessment of all incoming safeguarding referrals.
Ensure high-quality practice standards, with robust recording and clear decision-making.
Drive performance management, ensuring KPIs and service targets are met.
Lead on quality assurance activities, including audits, reflective supervision, and continuous service improvement.
Promote effective multi-agency collaboration, working closely with partners across police, health, education, and other services.
Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and regular supervision, fostering a positive team culture.
Manage complex and high-risk cases, providing oversight and direction where required.
Contribute to the wider service by supporting strategic development and operational improvements within MASH.
Experience/Skills
Significant experience within MASH or front-door safeguarding services
Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
Minimum of 3 years' post-qualified social work experience
Proven experience in leading and managing teams, ideally within children's services
Strong working knowledge of safeguarding legislation, thresholds, and statutory frameworks
Excellent decision-making, organisational, and communication skills
Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
