Are you a visionary leader with a passion for improving the lives of individuals with learning disabilities and their carers? We're seeking an experienced and dynamic Team Manager to provide operational leadership and management for our Integrated Learning Disability Team. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the community, with pay rates of up to £43 per hour.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management: Provide strong leadership to the team, fostering a positive and effective working environment conducive to change and growth.

Workload Management: Prioritize and allocate workloads effectively, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.

Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, volunteers, customers, carers, and other agencies to facilitate collaborative working and service improvement.

Meeting Facilitation: Chair case conferences and multi-agency meetings as required, representing the department at seminars and strategic gatherings.

Performance Monitoring: Maintain high standards of work within the service, monitoring performance across all aspects of service delivery and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

Budgetary Control: Contribute to budget preparation and monitoring processes, ensuring prudent and well-managed use of resources within designated financial limits.

Complaints Handling: Conduct investigations under relevant complaints and enquiry procedures, analyzing trends and making recommendations for improvement.

Policy Development: Participate in the development of policy, procedures, and strategic plans for individuals with learning disabilities and autism in the Merton area.

Staff Management: Lead recruitment efforts, provide induction for new staff, and ensure all team members receive regular supervision and annual appraisals.

Professional Development: Support staff in their professional development, utilizing training opportunities and qualifications to enhance skills and knowledge.

Legislative Compliance: Stay up-to-date with national and local developments in learning disability and autism, ensuring staff are informed and compliant with relevant legislation, regulations, and guidance.

Safeguarding: Ensure effective safeguarding procedures are in place and act as a Safeguarding Manager, prioritizing Making Safeguarding Personal and the needs of carers.

Record Keeping: Ensure case records are maintained to a high standard and in line with policy requirements.

Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor team performance and activity, implementing measures to support improvement as needed.

Health and Safety: Implement and promote compliance with health and safety policies and procedures at all times.

Specific Tasks:

Prepare and support staff attending court and preparing reports for legal purposes.

Ensure mental capacity assessments are carried out or recorded appropriately.

Provide guidance and professional support to clients on their caseload.

Ensure customer and carer involvement in decision-making processes.

Develop and maintain a duty system for customer access.

Lead investigations into allegations of abuse, working closely with the Safeguarding Adult's Team.

Facilitate smooth customer transfers in partnership with other service areas.

Inform customers of their benefit rights and conduct financial assessments as necessary.

Provide necessary services to individuals with no recourse to public funds.

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as DOLS assessments.
