Team Manager - HVAC & Hygiene Operations

Location: Field Based / Hybrid
Employment Type: Full Time
Salary: £38,000 + Fixed Overtime Rates

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Team Manager to lead and support a field-based team of HVAC and Hygiene Technicians.

This is a hands-on operational management role, combining people leadership, field operations, quality assurance, customer service and resource planning. You'll spend regular time out in the field supporting your team, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

You'll be an important link between field-based teams and operational management, helping to identify and resolve issues quickly, improve first-time completion rates and ensure customers receive an excellent service.

This position would suit an experienced Team Leader, Supervisor or Senior Engineer who is ready to take greater responsibility for team performance and operational delivery.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading & Developing the Team

You'll take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and performance of a team of field-based technicians and engineers. This will include:

Leading, motivating, coaching and developing individuals and the wider team.
Setting clear expectations around safety, quality, productivity and customer service.
Conducting regular one-to-one meetings and six-monthly performance reviews.
Supporting the recruitment, onboarding and induction of new team members.
Providing ongoing coaching, mentoring and skills development.

Operational Planning & Site Delivery

Working closely with operational, scheduling and support teams, you'll help ensure field activities run smoothly and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting forward planning to ensure the correct team sizes and time allowances are assigned to jobs.
Coordinating with warehouse and operational teams to ensure technicians have the appropriate tools, equipment, PPE and materials.
Spending regular time on customer sites to monitor work and support field teams.

Fleet, Equipment & PPE

You'll help ensure company vehicles, equipment and PPE are safe, maintained and ready for use.

This will include:

Ensuring daily vehicle checks are completed.
Carrying out regular checks of vehicle condition and cleanliness.
Monitoring PPE and equipment allocated to vehicles.
Checking power tools and cleaning equipment.
Quality, Health & SafetyQuality and compliance will be central to the role. You'll ensure HVAC and hygiene works are completed in accordance with relevant:

Health & Safety requirements.
Industry standards and best practice.
Operational procedures.You'll also carry out regular site inspections and quality audits, working with relevant colleagues to maintain and continually improve working standards.

Customer Service

You'll play an important role in maintaining excellent customer relationships and ensuring the team delivers a professional service.

You will:

Build positive, long-term relationships with customers.
Act as a key point of contact on-site when required.
Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently.

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience & Skills

We're looking for someone who has:

Previous experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor, Senior Engineer or similar within HVAC, ventilation hygiene, compliance, building services or a related field-based environment.
A full UK driving licence.

Desirable

It would be advantageous if you also have:

HVAC, ventilation, hygiene or building services qualifications.
A recognised Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH.
Experience working with RAMS and operational compliance processes.
Knowledge of TR19®, BESA guidance and associated ventilation hygiene standards.

About You

You'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership and being visible in the field rather than managing solely from behind a desk.

You'll be comfortable building relationships with customers, engineers and operational colleagues, while maintaining clear expectations and holding people accountable when necessary.

Most importantly, you'll bring a proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and work collaboratively across field, office and operational teams.
