The service you will work in….

Croydon Mental Health service provides accommodation and floating support to adults aged 18+ with low to medium-level mental health needs.

The service operates with collaboration at its heart, working directly with service users to promote independence and wellbeing with an ultimate focus on recovery.

All service users are in control of their recovery and staff support individuals at a pace that suits the user.

A day in this role looks like….

As a Team Manager at our local client, you will play a crucial role in our Complex Needs service. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.

A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:

· Oversee a team of 12 support workers and 25 beds across two 24 hrs services (staffed 8am-10pm Mon-Sun, with concierge service provided 10pm-8am Mon-Sun). Housing Management for these services will be provided by the Landlord.

· To work closely with the Service Manager to ensure that Recovery Workers and Peer Support works listen and support people to de-escalate their immediate situation empowering them to develop self-management techniques, build their assets and advocate for their own wishes.

· To be supported by the Service Manager in the development, implementation and maintenance of partnerships and engagement strategies for the service

· To lead Team Meetings and engage staff in reflective supervision outside of the operational hours.

· To achieve the agreed standards of service delivery for the service in compliance with relevant legislation, external governance, contract requirements and our clients’ policies and procedures

· To work with the Service Manager in planning, negotiating, and managing the budgets for the Cove

· To provide effective and inspiring leadership, management and support to the support staff and volunteers in the Cove

· To support the Service Manager to work with the Senior Management Team, including the Area Manager and Regional Director, to enable the organisation to develop its aims and objectives by participating in strategic planning and delivery processes to further organisational policy and practice development.

· To promote the aims, objectives, and service delivery of the organisation, and represent the organisation by building effective relationships with the Rapid Response Service.

Essential / Minimum Criteria

· Demonstrable experience of managing accommodation-based support services for people with mental health and complex needs., managing local managers and staff working with people who have complex issues and health problems and a strong understanding of Recovery approach and co production.

* Knowledge of issues affecting those individuals with a range of mental health conditions

* Demonstrable experience of recruitment, induction, supervision, motivation, appraisal, training, discipline and grievance issues, performance monitoring and delivering consistently high delivery standards and service user standards., managing and keeping complex budgets. : Excellent knowledge of Community Care, mental health, Health and Safety and welfare benefits legislation (including welfare reform)

* Knowledge of methods of assessing, formulating, implementing, recording, reviewing and auditing service users' support and safety assessment plans

* Ability to positively promote the organisation at external events, including delivering presentations and creating marketing material.

* Good knowledge of MS Office systems and able to use computer systems including case management systems , ability to write & interpret complex reports

* Knowledge and demonstrable experience of housing pathways, housing legislation and housing management experience including income collection from personal service charges and Housing Benefit.

* Ability to work flexibly including limited out of hours working during the evening, weekends / bank holidays to scrutinise the delivery of the Service.

* Ability to complete and record accurate financial transactions and knowledge of managing budget
