Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Pay Rate: £41.42 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Temporary
Hours: Full-time

We are seeking an experienced and committed Children’s Social Care Team Manager to join a busy Children in Care Service in Birmingham.

You will lead, support and develop a team of social workers, ensuring high-quality practice, effective care planning and positive outcomes for children and young people in care and those subject to care proceedings.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, manage and coach a team of social workers.

*

Oversee care planning and permanence planning for children in care.

*

Promote trauma-informed and relationship-based practice.

*

Maintain high standards of safeguarding, practice quality and performance.

*

Support social workers with complex cases and child-centred decision-making.

*

Work collaboratively with families, professionals and partner agencies.

*

Monitor team performance and use management information to drive improvement.

*

Promote an aspirational, supportive and accountable team culture.

*

Ensure practice complies with legislation, regulations and best-practice standards.

About You

*

Qualified Social Worker with relevant management experience.

*

Proven experience in Children in Care / Looked After Children services.

*

Strong leadership, coaching and people-management skills.

*

Good knowledge of safeguarding, care planning and relevant legislation.

*

Excellent organisation, communication and decision-making skills.

*

Resilient and able to manage a demanding workload.

*

Ability to work effectively with children, families and multi-agency partners.

Mandatory: Must have a UK Passport or a Full Right to Work in the UK
