Our client is a well-established and growing law firm specialising in Private Client services, including Wills, Probate and Estate Planning. They are seeking an experienced Probate Team Manager to lead a high-performing team of legal professionals, ensuring exceptional client service, technical excellence and strong commercial performance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified legal professional who enjoys mentoring others while remaining hands-on with technical probate work.

The Role

As Probate Team Manager, you'll oversee the performance, development and technical supervision of a team of Probate Legal Advisors, ensuring matters progress efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of legal compliance and client care.

Alongside leading your team, you'll retain a small personal caseload to ensure your technical knowledge remains current and continue to support the delivery of high-quality probate services.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management
* Lead, motivate and develop a team of Probate Legal Advisors.
* Drive individual and team performance against agreed KPIs and service standards.
* Deliver regular coaching, mentoring and performance reviews.
* Identify training needs and support ongoing professional development.
* Conduct regular case reviews and quality assurance checks.
* Assist with recruitment, onboarding and development of new team members.
* Work collaboratively with other department managers to ensure operational success.

Legal & Compliance
* Provide technical supervision and guidance to your team.
* Manage a small personal caseload of probate matters.
* Ensure compliance with SRA regulations and internal policies.
* Monitor legal quality, risk management and file progression.
* Keep up to date with changes in probate legislation and best practice.
* Support continuous improvement across legal processes and procedures.

Client Service
* Ensure clients receive a professional, compassionate and efficient service throughout the probate process.
* Support the resolution of complex client queries and complaints.
* Work with internal teams to manage workloads and client expectations.
* Promote a culture focused on outstanding client care and service excellence.

Performance & Operations
* Monitor team workloads, work in progress and case progression.
* Drive productivity, billing performance and departmental KPIs.
* Produce accurate management reports and performance data.
* Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service delivery.
* Support the firm's continued growth through effective people management and operational excellence.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Significant experience within Wills, Probate and Private Client law.
* Previous experience supervising or managing legal professionals.
* Excellent coaching, mentoring and leadership skills.
* Strong technical knowledge of probate law and compliance requirements.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to motivate others.
* Experience managing KPIs, workloads and performance within a legal environment.
