Children’s Residential Team Leader
Location: Salford, Manchester
Salary: £14.21 per hour + £30 sleep-in allowance
Hours: Full-time, permanent
Shifts: Long days with sleep-ins
We are recruiting for an experienced Children’s Residential Team Leader to join a residential home supporting young people aged 8–18.
This is a hands-on role where you will support the day-to-day running of the home, provide guidance to the staff team and ensure young people receive safe, consistent and person-centred care.
Key responsibilities:
* Supporting young people with their daily routines, activities and appointments
* Building positive and trusting relationships
* Providing emotional support and acting as a positive role model
* Supporting and leading the residential care team
* Assisting the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager with the running of the home
* Supporting staff with day-to-day practice and decision making
* Helping maintain a safe, positive and homely environment
* Ensuring care is delivered in line with safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
* Taking responsibility for the home in the absence of senior management
About you:
* Previous experience working within children’s residential care
* Ideally hold a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or equivalent
* Aged 21+
* Confident supporting and leading a team
* Caring, resilient and reliable
* Able to remain calm and make appropriate decisions in challenging situations
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A full UK driving licence is preferred.
