Description:
Central Recruitment is working with an organisation that provides supported housing and living services to vulnerable adults suffering from mental health conditions and homelessness.
Our client is currently recruiting for 2 Team Leaders to work in their services in Catford and Crystal Palace. The service provides low- medium level support to individuals with mental health and substance misuse.
* 45 hours per week
* Monday to Friday
* 8:00 to 18:00
* Approximately 3 months with the possibility of transferring to permanent
* £18.44 per hour (£16.45 per hour, with £1.99 holiday pay)
Please note that the Catford role will involve working across two services in the Catford area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lead and manage 5–6 staff, providing support, supervision, guidance and training
* Oversee the day-to-day management of the designated Unit, ensuring appropriate 24/7 staffing and on-site cover
* Maintain effective communication with management, business support, families and external professionals
* Oversee tenants’ needs, ensuring appropriate support, meaningful activities and promotion of independence
* Manage petty cash, residents’ personal finances, budgets, invoices and purchase orders in line with company policies
* Maintain accurate records and provide reports for case conferences, court proceedings, reviews and CPA meetings
* Liaise with GPs, social workers, nurses and other professionals to support residents’ health and wellbeing
* Support staff recruitment in line with company policies and procedures
* Ensure complaints are responded to promptly, recorded appropriately and that residents and relatives understand the complaints procedure
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
* Experience providing support to a team of staff
* A clear understanding of Safeguarding and the reporting process required
* Experience of service delivery and support
* Knowledge and understanding of mental health conditions, and issues related to both alcohol and substance abuse.
* Experience of compiling comprehensive assessments and SMART action plans
* IT skills necessary to compile correspondence and reports
FURTHER REQUIREMENTS:
In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
* Current valid right to work in the UK
* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
* A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
