Team Leader – Home Care

Location: Bournemouth
Salary: £13.30 per hour
Hours: 30 hours per week
On-Call: 1 evening per week and 1 weekend in 4
On-Call Pay: £20 per weekday evening / £90 per weekend
Driver: Essential

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Team Leader to join a reputable and well-established home care provider in Bournemouth.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous experience in a similar care or supervisory role who is looking to take the next step in their career while continuing to make a positive difference to the people receiving care and support.

The Role

As a Team Leader, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day delivery of high-quality care services. You will work closely with care staff, service users and the management team to ensure that care is delivered safely, consistently and in line with individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

Support and supervise a team of care staff, providing guidance and day-to-day support.
Carry out regular staff supervisions, spot checks and observations.
Help ensure care plans and risk assessments are followed and kept up to date.
Monitor the quality of care being delivered in the community.
Support with staff induction, training and development.
Assist with managing staff rotas and covering shifts where required.
Respond to service user and staff queries professionally and promptly.
Build positive relationships with service users, families and healthcare professionals.
Report and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, incidents and complaints.
Ensure accurate care records and documentation are maintained.
Promote dignity, independence, choice and person-centred care.
Support the management team with CQC compliance and company policies and procedures.
Participate in the on-call rota, providing support and advice to care staff outside normal working hours.
Assist with resolving any urgent staffing or service-user issues during on-call periods.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Previous experience as a Team Leader, Senior Carer, Care Supervisor or similar.
Experience within domiciliary/home care or a similar care environment.
Good knowledge of person-centred care and safeguarding.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
The confidence to supervise and support a team.
A professional and compassionate approach.
The ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
Flexibility to participate in the on-call rota.
