Role: Teaching Assistant – Special Educational Needs

Full-Time Position - Monday to Friday (part time roles are also available)

Location: Abingdon

We have several special needs schools in North London who are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic teaching assistants!

As a crucial part of an inclusive model, you'll contribute to a positive and supportive learning environment, providing SEN pupils with stability and support in their education.

This is a fantastic opportunity for those with no classroom experience looking to begin a career in education and exercise their passion for supporting those with special needs. It is also a great opportunity for experienced care workers and teaching assistants who are looking utilise their previous experience.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and group support.
Assist in implementing individualized education plans.
Contribute to a positive, inclusive atmosphere.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to create an optimal learning environment.
Aid in classroom activities and organization.
Support students in developing social skills and positive behaviour to assist them inside and outside of the classroom.
Confidently assist in managing challenging behaviour 
Requirements:

Experience in a school or care setting is preferred but certainly not required.
Knowledge of how to support those with SEN, Mental Health Difficulties and Medical requirements.
It is desirable that you have completed at least one of the following Qualifications, though it is not essential: Moving & Handling, Team Teach.
Important information:

This is a full-time role (Monday – Friday, 8:30 – 3:30) however, those available on a part-time basis are encouraged to apply, as there are plenty of similar jobs available on a part time and day to day basis.
Pay is dependent on experience but will be between £95 per day.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
