Position: Teaching Assistant
Location: Barrow-in-Furness
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (8:30-3:30)
KeyStage Teacher Supply is currently recruiting for enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming secondary school in Barrow-in-Furness from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and making a positive difference in the classroom. The school is looking for reliable, caring individuals who can work alongside teaching staff to support pupils with their learning, confidence, and personal development.
The a Teaching Assistant, you will support students across the school day, working closely with teachers and other members of staff to help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Your responsibilities may include:

Supporting pupils with their classroom learning and activities
Providing one-to-one and small group support where required
Helping students develop confidence and independence
Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
Working alongside teachers to deliver engaging lessons
Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learningAbout are looking for candidates who are:

Passionate about working with young people
Patient, approachable, and supportive
Reliable and committed to a full-time role
Confident working as part of a wider school team
Able to build positive relationships with students and staffPrevious experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, youth worker, childcare professional, or in a similar education setting would be beneficial. SEND experience is desirable but not essential, and the school welcomes applications from candidates with transferable skills and the right attitude.
Requirements:
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Right to work in the UK
Relevant experience supporting children or young people is desirable
