Teaching Assistant – Specialist SEND

We are seeking a calm, compassionate and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join a small, specialist school within a Tier 4 Learning Disability CAMHS setting.

You will support young people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, communication difficulties and complex behaviours, primarily through 1:1 teaching and occasional small-group activities.

Key responsibilities:

* Supporting lessons and individual learning

* Preparing resources and practical activities

* Building positive relationships with young people

* Supporting outdoor and creative activities

* Recording learning and progress

* Gradually delivering planned 1:1 sessions independently

Hospital experience is not essential. We are looking for someone who is patient, non-judgemental, confident, adaptable and able to use their initiative.

This is a varied and rewarding role where every day is different, with full induction and ongoing support provided.

You must have a clear DBS certificate to be considered for this role. If you do not have one Supply Star Recruitment can support you in obtaining one at a cost.
