SEND Teaching Assistant - Chesterfield
SEND Teaching Assistant | Chesterfield | Primary Schools | Part Time or Full Time
Tradewind Recruitment are looking for experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to support children across a range of primary schools in the Chesterfield area.
We are looking for passionate, reliable and adaptable Teaching Assistants who have experience supporting pupils with SEND, either within mainstream primary schools or specialist SEND settings.
This is a fantastic opportunity if you are looking for flexible work around your existing commitments, with both part-time and full-time opportunities available.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you may be supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including:
Autism (ASD)
ADHD
Social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)
Communication and interaction difficulties
Moderate learning difficulties
Behavioural needs
Other complex or additional learning needsYou will work closely with class teachers and other support staff to help pupils access learning, develop their confidence and make progress.
About You
We would ideally like you to have:
Previous experience supporting children with SEND in either a mainstream or specialist school setting
A genuine passion for supporting children and helping them reach their potential
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
Patience, resilience and a calm approach
Good communication and teamwork skills
Availability for either part-time or full-time workA Team Teach qualification, or another recognised behaviour management/de-escalation qualification, would be particularly useful but is not essential.
