Position: Teaching Assistant (SEND Students)
Start Date: 2nd September 2024
Employment Type: Full-Time (Potential for Permanent Role)

About Us: We are a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Chesterfield dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment for all our students. We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team, focusing on supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within our mainstream classrooms.

Role and Responsibilities: As a Teaching Assistant working with SEND students, you will play a crucial role in helping children with various needs, including behavioural difficulties and difficulty concentrating, to achieve their full potential. Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting SEND students in a mainstream classroom setting.
Assisting the classroom teacher with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
Providing one-on-one or small group support to students as needed.
Using positive behaviour management techniques to support students with behavioural difficulties.
Encouraging and assisting students to stay focused and engaged in their learning activities.
Collaborating with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Monitoring and recording student progress and providing feedback to the teaching staff.Qualifications and Experience:

Experience working with SEND students in either a mainstream or specialised SEND school setting is essential.
Proven ability to support students with behavioural difficulties and those who have difficulty concentrating.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
While a TA qualification is not required, it is advantageous.What We Offer:
