Protocol Education is working with a range of primary, secondary and specialist SEND schools across North Somerset, offering supply, long-term and full-time opportunities with immediate starts available.

We are looking for reliable, caring and enthusiastic support staff who can help pupils access learning, build confidence and develop their independence.

Clevedon – BS21
Portishead – BS20
Nailsea & Backwell – BS48

The Role

Depending on your experience, you may be supporting pupils:

1:1 or in small groups.
With classroom learning and daily activities.
With literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities.
With SEND and additional learning needs.
With social, emotional and behavioural development.
With Autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD and communication needs.
To develop confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
By preparing learning resources and classroom materials.
Alongside teachers, SENCOs and wider support teams.
Within a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEN TA, LSA, Learning Support Assistant or similar is desirable.
Relevant UK experience working with children or young people.
SEND experience is highly desirable for SEN TA opportunities.
Patient, caring and adaptable approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work across different schools, year groups and pupil needs.
Reliable, professional and committed to supporting pupil progress.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
