Pay: £83.85 per day

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at a Primary school in Cardiff in September 2024. The successful candidate will work closely with the teachers and support staff to provide high-quality education and care for the pupils. The role will be varied supporting a pupil with Autism in the morning and providing interventions in the afternoon to KS2.

Key Responsibilities:

Work 1:1 with a pupil in Year 3 with autism and non-verbal communication, providing individualised support and guidance to help them achieve their academic and personal goals.
Support pupils in Year 4-6 with specific interventions, tailored to their individual needs and abilities.
Assist teachers in preparing lesson materials, setting up activities, and maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Work collaboratively with teachers and other teaching assistants to develop and implement personalised learning plans.
Provide emotional support and guidance to pupils, helping them to build confidence and self-esteem.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children with autism or special educational needs is essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility and adaptability.
Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
Understanding of child development and learning theories, with a commitment to inclusive education practices.
Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
