Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant - SEN School (Includes Personal Care)
Location - Cwmbran, South Wales
Sector - 3-19 Additional Learning Needs
Pay rate - £84.50 - £100 per day (based on experience)
Duration - Long-term, school term time (Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm)

Do you have experience or a keen interest in supporting children with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)? PE Direct are currently seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join the team at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Newport (South Wales) catering to students aged 3-19.

Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support to pupils with a variety of complex learning needs, including autism, PMLD and communication difficulties.
* Assist with personal care tasks, ensuring the dignity and well-being of each pupil.
* Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to implement and adapt Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment to help pupils build confidence in their abilities.
* Assist pupils in achieving their academic, social, and emotional milestones.
* Support and encourage pupils to participate in group activities and school events, ensuring their full inclusion and engagement.
Requirements:
* A passion for working children with additional learning needs, particularly those with severe or complex needs.
* Comfort and competence in providing personal care.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to build strong relationships with pupils based on trust and respect.
* Ability to demonstrate and promote positive behaviour.
* Willingness to undertake additional training.
