Teaching Assistant - Guildford
Location: Guildford, Surrey
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
We are working with a welcoming and supportive school in Guildford that is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant from September.
This role will involve supporting individual pupils in the classroom, including children with SEND. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential in a positive and inclusive environment.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
Work with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
Provide targeted support for children with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and other additional learning needs.
Help adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil requirements.
Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and engagement in learning.
Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
The Ideal Candidate
Has previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, or similar setting.
Has experience supporting pupils with SEND or a genuine interest in developing within this area.
Is patient, empathetic, and committed to helping every child succeed.
Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Works effectively as part of a team and can use their own initiative.
Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
