Teaching Assistant Job in Blackburn

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Mainstream Primary School in Blackburn on a temp-to-perm basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced TA or an aspiring education professional looking to develop their career within a supportive primary school environment.

The successful candidate will undertake a general Teaching Assistant role, working closely alongside the school's SENCO to support SEND pupils within Key Stage 2 (KS2). You will play a key role in helping children access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Provide classroom support across KS2.
Work alongside the SENCO to support pupils with SEND needs.
Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions.
Support learning activities and classroom engagement.
Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, or similar role is desirable.
Experience supporting children with SEND is advantageous.
Understanding of KS2 curriculum and classroom practice.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, proactive, and nurturing approach.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
