Teaching Assistant - Year 3
Location: Northfield, Birmingham, B31
Weekly Pay: £500 - £525
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-Term to PermanentLong Term Futures are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Northfield. You will be based within a Year 3 class, providing whole-class support alongside additional SEN support for individual pupils.
The role will include supporting a pupil with SEMH needs, as well as assisting another member of staff with the personal care needs of a child in the class.
The Role
Provide whole-class support within a Year 3 classroom
Support a pupil with SEMH and emotional regulation needs
Provide 1:1 and small group support where required
Assist another member of staff with a pupil's personal care
Deliver targeted interventions and support learning activities
Promote positive behaviour, engagement and independence
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team
The Ideal Candidate
Previous Teaching Assistant experience within a primary school
Experience supporting pupils with SEN and/or SEMH
Comfortable supporting with personal care alongside another member of staff
Confident providing whole-class, small group and 1:1 support
Calm, patient and nurturing approach
Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
