Teaching Assistant | Specialist Autism School | Newark-on-Trent (NG24) | £410-£440 Take Home Per Week | Long-Term to Permanent | September 2026 Start

The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are working in partnership with an independent specialist school just outside Newark-on-Trent (NG24) to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. The school supports children and young people aged 5-19 with Autism and associated needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about specialist education to make a genuine difference within a supportive and welcoming school community.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Autism and additional learning needs
Support pupils to access the curriculum through personalised learning strategies and classroom adaptations
Build positive, trusting relationships that promote engagement, confidence, and independence
Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider staffing team.
Monitor pupil progress and contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environmentAbout You:

Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred, although strong Level 2 candidates will also be considered
Previous classroom support experience is essential
Experience working with pupils with SEND, particularly Autism, is highly desirable
Good working knowledge of the National Curriculum
Level 3 qualification in Learning & Development (or currently working towards one)
