Location: M32, Trafford
Pay: £90 to £95 per day, dependent on experience

Are you a confident and committed Teaching Assistant who enjoys helping secondary school pupils reach their potential?
Teaching Personnel is working with a welcoming secondary school in the M32 area of Trafford to recruit a full-time Teaching Assistant. The successful applicant will support pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them remain engaged in lessons, build confidence and make positive academic and personal progress.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant. We would also welcome applications from people with relevant experience in youth work, childcare, mentoring, sports coaching, tutoring, residential care or support work who are interested in developing a career within secondary education.
The Role
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support pupils within mainstream classroom lessons across KS3 and KS4
Provide individual and small-group interventions where required
Help pupils understand tasks and access the secondary curriculum
Support students with additional learning needs, including pupils with SEND
Encourage positive behaviour, attendance and engagement
Build professional and supportive relationships with pupils
Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and wider pastoral team
Help create a calm, inclusive and purposeful learning environment
Provide consistent support throughout the school day
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Has previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
Alternatively, has relevant experience supporting children or young people in another setting
Is confident working with pupils aged 11 to 16
Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
Can remain calm, patient and consistent when managing challenging behaviour
Is proactive and able to use initiative within the classroom
Is committed to supporting pupils academically, socially and emotionally
Can reliably commute to the M32 area, either by car or public transport
Is available full-time, Monday to Friday, during school hours
A Teaching Assistant qualification or previous SEND experience would be beneficial, but it is not essential. The school is particularly interested in applicants with the right attitude, reliability and commitment to supporting young people.
