The Supply Register is proud to be working alongside Merefield School in Southport, who are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their school immediately.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone with relevant experience who is passionate about supporting children with their learning, development and wellbeing.

As a Teaching Assistant at Merefield School, you will play an important role within the classroom, supporting teachers and pupils to create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

‍ The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

Supporting teachers with the delivery of lessons

Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils

Supporting pupils with their reading, writing and numeracy

Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills

Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required

Helping to manage classroom activities and maintain a positive learning environment

Encouraging pupils to remain engaged and focused on their learning

Supporting pupils with their day-to-day learning and development

Working closely with teachers and other school staff

Building positive and supportive relationships with pupils

⭐ Who We're Looking For

We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and committed Teaching Assistant in Southport who can make a positive difference to pupils' learning and development.

Experience as a:

Teaching Assistant (TA)

Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Classroom Support Assistant

SEN Teaching Assistant

Education Support Worker

School Support Worker

would be beneficial.

✅ Requirements

Previous experience working within a school or educational setting is desirable

Experience supporting children or young people

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A caring, patient and supportive approach

A genuine passion for supporting children and education

Ability to build positive relationships with pupils

Ability to work effectively as part of a school team

A good understanding of safeguarding and the importance of following school procedures

A fully enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service

DBS REQUIREMENT

A fully enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required for this role. Candidates must be able to provide their DBS details for verification before commencing work.
