SEN Teaching Assistants - Long-Term Opportunities

Location: Stockport Area
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Long-term Opportunities Available
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Premier Education is currently working in partnership with a number of welcoming and supportive schools across the Stockport area who are recruiting experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants for September starts.

We are looking to speak with compassionate and resilient individuals who are available to work 5 days a week supporting pupils with a range of additional needs within primary school settings.

This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates who are passionate about helping children thrive both academically and emotionally.

The Role:

Providing classroom and 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
Supporting children with a range of SEN including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs
Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning support
Delivering small group interventions where required
Helping to create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff

Candidate Requirements:

Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or supporting children with additional needs
A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
