Teaching Assistant

TeacherActive are proud to be working with a multicultural school in the Swansea area. The Headteacher is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and creative Teaching Assistant to join their committed team. As a teaching assistant, you will be responsible for supporting pupils, not only in their learning but also their social and emotional development. This is a part-time role for 3 days week (Monday to Wednesday)which will start in September for two terms initially and it will be reviewed in April 2025. The duration of the role is dependant upon securing additional funding for the new financial year.

The successful candidate should:

Be able to work in a nurturing way, to support all children's needs
Be confident working with the entire primary age range.
Be sensitive, empathetic and have an understanding of the diverse community we work in
Be an effective team member and willing to support others
Have experience of working with children who have English as an Additional Language
Have highly effective literacy and numeracy skills
Have experience of motivating and engaging primary age children 
Understand the skills needed to support pupils with additional learning needs
Be willing to undertake training as and when necessary to further develop their skills
