The role – Teaching Assistant

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding primary school in Greenwich. In this rewarding Teaching Assistant role, you will provide targeted one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils to fully engage in learning and make consistent, meaningful progress.

You will work closely with children with ASD and those presenting challenging behaviour, taking a calm, patient, and consistent approach to meet their individual needs. The role involves supporting the implementation of tailored strategies, assisting with behaviour management, and contributing to a structured, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

Working collaboratively with class teachers and the SENCO, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils’ academic achievement as well as their social development, confidence, and emotional wellbeing, helping each child to reach their full potential.

The School - Teaching Assistant

This is a welcoming and inclusive school where every child is encouraged to develop a lifelong love of learning. Pupils are supported to build the skills they need to overcome individual barriers and make strong, sustained progress.

The school’s approach is rooted in a holistic, evidence-informed pedagogy that places inclusion at its centre. It promotes a culture where staff and pupils learn together, where high expectations are balanced with care and compassion, and where effective teaching and learning is consistently modelled and celebrated.

The curriculum is designed to reflect the local community, helping pupils make meaningful connections in their learning and apply core values in real and relevant contexts. This creates a positive and engaging environment where staff are encouraged to be creative, reflective, and innovative in their practice.
