The Role
You will be joining a welcoming team, supporting young adults (19–25) with complex SEND needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties, communication and physical needs. Your focus will be on promoting independence, communication, and personal development for every student you support.
Responsibilities
Support students with complex needs throughout their college day
Assist with personalised learning programmes and activities
Encourage communication, independence, and social development
Provide respectful personal care and follow manual handling procedures as required
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and wider support staff
Contribute to a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
Skills and Experience
Experience supporting children or young people with complex SEND needs
Previous work in a specialist school, college, or care environment
Understanding of supporting students with communication difficulties, physical needs, and learning disabilities
Manual Handling training and experience of personal care are desirable
Patient, caring, and flexible approach to meeting individual needs
Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
Ability to commit to a long-term role starting September 2026

Location: Northfield, Birmingham
Pay: £95.00 - £98.00 per day
Working Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 09:30 – 16:15 | Wednesday: 09:30 – 17:00
