Teaching Assistant – Complex SEND (Primary & Secondary)
Location: Islington
Salary: From £92.63 per day (PAYE)
Hours: Full-time or part-time available
Start Date: September 2026
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and committed Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex SEND needs across both primary and secondary age groups in Islington.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in students’ lives. You will support learners with diverse needs, helping them access education, develop independence, and thrive in a nurturing environment. The role includes both academic and pastoral support, and may involve personal care responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with complex SEND
• Assist in delivering adapted learning activities tailored to individual needs
• Support students’ emotional regulation, engagement, and development
• Provide personal care with professionalism, dignity, and respect
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

• Experienced in supporting children or young people with SEND (particularly complex needs)
• Patient, empathetic, and resilient in a challenging but highly rewarding role
