Teaching Personnel are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner secondary schools in the Taunton area on a full-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and enjoys supporting young people to reach their full potential.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pupils to provide additional support both inside and outside the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting pupils with their learning and development.
Working with individuals and small groups where required.
Helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Supporting pupils with additional learning needs.
Building positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Assisting teachers with classroom activities and resources.
Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence and engagement.
Supporting the school's behaviour and safeguarding policies.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Previous experience working with children or young people.
A patient, caring and supportive approach.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
A proactive and adaptable approach to work.
A genuine passion for supporting young people and education.
Previous school experience is desirable but not essential, and we welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in youth work, childcare, sports coaching, care or similar settings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
